youtube.com/c/CattleandcropsGame/videos - no announcement (livestream was removed)
facebook.com/cattleandcrops/posts/ - no announcement
steamcommunity.com/app/704030/discussions/ - no announcement
twitter.com/cattleandcrops - no announcement
There is no official announcement on any platform that I could find. I don't want to speak for someone else but I think that was the point @Octopuss was making. This is also why I maintain that they are being disingenuous. Current and future customers deserve to know what is going on in my opinion.

I mean part of the reason why they failed as a company is clear: they don't understand several utterly basic concepts.
I seriously hope they will not start another company and try to get someone else's money. Not these people. -
Oh man @Octopuss do you have something else in store to not only spread dissatisfaction here? Am I correct in assuming that you want to turn your back on this game and play the other game? That is not meant badly now!For someone who doesn't like the game anymore and who doesn't really want to have anything to do with it, you're still pretty agile. Everyone should be able and allowed to have their opinion here, that is out of the question. But you could also reveal your only bad opinions in your preferred game, forum!Gruß

Which is why I consider their failure to interact with English speaking clientbase to be such huge screw up. -
not meaningful because I do not believe that all CnC-financing is finally shown here

Most likely kickstarter money was used up within couple first years of development.

Just for your info. @Hummel did a statement in the German part. I threw it in deepl and translated it. I hope that worked correctly.
"Hello folks,
As promised, I’m giving you some initial feedback on the future of the community project.
First of all: Sorry that I have exhausted the „end of the week“ a bit. Unfortunately, I was absent for health reasons, as I had caught something while helping in the flood area.
Most people probably noticed that the CattleandCrops website and also the login here in the forum was not possible.
The reason for this was an expired SSL certificate. I renewed the certificate, but unfortunately the new certificate was only valid for cattleandcrops.com but not for cattleandcrops.com.
I have just corrected this error. The website and the forum are now up and running again. Positive side effect: The forum is now also accessible via https.
About the community project:
There is still no concrete, fixed and reliable master plan for what the project will look like.
However, it is already certain that a publication of the source code or the possibility to convert the project to open source is not possible.
The licence agreement we have for our engine makes this impossible and only allows access to the source code for MBB employees.
For my part, the first step for the community project is to process and make available the 3D models that have not yet been published.
As already mentioned, we still have some models "in stock", i.e. we have produced some vehicles and attachments that have not yet made it into the game. These models are in very different states: Some are completely painted and "only" need to be equipped with the corresponding functions in the editor. Other models still have to be painted in the Substance Painter and for some of them normal maps, AO maps and the like still have to be baked.
Afterwards, I will share my knowledge with you about the further processing of the 3D models and help you to bring these models into the game.
Parallel to the publication of the 3D models, I will take another close look at the multiplayer in the coming weeks and check whether I can overcome the technical hurdles and roughly assess whether my little dream of playing a round of Cattle in multiplayer with you at Christmas is at all realistic.
Then there are two more construction sites that are possible without programming work: The creation of maps or the integration of the second map and the creation of missions/campaigns. However, I would like to put these two topics on the back burner for the time being." -

Used to get product to this point I guess. This development started sometime around 2017 I recall... Divide that money to four years and it is about 60k€ per year. Not that much even for salaries not to mention all other expenses. They would have to sell a lot more copies/lisences for game to still have funds to keep going.
Which is why I consider their failure to interact with English speaking clientbase to be such huge screw up.

I have a hard time seeing this transform into a community project given the circumstances of not being able to release the source code as open source.
Essentially, as I see it. Our only hope is that MBB can employ workers without salary. Or the community buy MBB along with the engine licences.
A third option would be the community fund the employees. Which ofc would come with demands from the involved.
Im sure there's other options but these are the ones I can think of right now. Pretty much a rock and a hard place. -
The community has already funded the employees (MBB), one and no more...Amazing the speed in this proyect.... 0_0
