Launcher crashes

  • Launcher crashes

    I've downloaded the installer and let it install. Everything went fine so far.

    When I try to launch the C&C launcher it opens a website which tells me to download a GTK pack.
    I've seen the installer already installing this but okay. So download and install. Restart PC and still the same problem.

    I've uninstalled and reinstalled both things again and again. But still nothing.
    On my older laptop the launcher does work.

    Both my pc and laptop use Windows 7 64 bit.
    My pc is a few years younger and with a lot better spec.

    Intel i7 3930K
    16GB Ram
    512 GB SSD
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070

    Also noticed that the launcher is in a compatibility mode for Vista.

    Can Somebody help me so I can finally try C&C

    Btw on my laptop I get a grey screen when trying to play C&C and my laptop isn't powerful enough for C&C

  • I also have this exact problem. The libgtk-win32-2.0-0.dll file exists on my system. I already have latest version of Microsoft .net and installed the GTK pack from the crash help website.

    I can run the game freeciv using gtk2 without issues. Although this game installs the dll in its own folder as with other programs. The cattle and crops launcher doesnt have the file in its folder, where is it expecting the file to be?

    Still same issue for this threads GTK problem. Launcher crashes and goes to webpage. I have other programs that use GTK working fine, just cattle and crops launcher that has the issue. Other software have their own copy of libgtk-win32-2.0-0.dll in their own folder.

  • I have this same problem, web page opens with instructons to install .NET 4.5, Mono and GTK library. All these installed and rebooted, still the webpage opens. I have now unistalled and installed these programs twice, rebooted many times and still the laucher dont start. Is there any fix for this or is it just better to wait couple more months to get something that works?

    Got the same issue. I tried to reinstall in all kind of different versions but it doesn't work.
    Easy to learn, hard to master!

    I had installed the GTK libraries in a custom folder on a different HDD.

    After I copied those files into the folder from where I start the launcher it works.

    Try it and tell me if it worked.
